New Year's Eve celebration in Piazza del Campo
Siena's free New Year's Eve celebration takes place in the magnificent setting of Piazza del Campo, one of Europe's most beautiful squares, and in other squares across the medieval city, with live music, shows and a range of contemporary artistic performances.
The long New Year's Eve programme also includes travelling performances and street food.
Free parking is planned throughout the night, from 8 p.m. on 31 December until 7 a.m. on 1 January.
Events during the festive season
The Christmas calendar includes the following activities:
CHRISTMAS MARKET
A Christmas fair and market near the Lizza gardens, between Piazza Matteotti, Piazza Gramsci and Viale XXV Aprile.
ICE-SKATING RINK
A covered ice-skating rink in the Lizza gardens.
FUNFAIR
An amusement area with a panoramic tower, caterpillar ride, jumping attractions and bumper cars in the Lizza gardens.
ATTRACTIONS AND MUSEUMS OPEN
Siena's attractions and museums are also open on 31 December, generally closing early in the afternoon. Check opening times and admission prices before visiting.

New Year's Eve farm stay offers near Siena
