THE PLACE
The farm holiday is on the crest of a hill, in panoramic position:
Siena is on the farehead hill, and you can distinguish the most characteristic monuments.
The view on the country reaches until the Amiata Mount, over vineyards, olive groves,
field of grain, wood and ancient peasant houses.
The farm holiday belongs to a group of houses along the road of Saint Apollinare,
a cultural route called "the Chianti wine road". You can therefore see the Siena's
truth, with its farm-yards and vine-yards.
 The garden around the old barn offers the shadow of a secular
horse-chesnut and some games for children; 2 bicycles and 2 mountain bike are available,
and near there is also a bus stop (4 runs/day). Pets are welcome.
We have a black rooster of Livornese race with two hens, braces of rabbits,
ducks, geese and their young; there are also cats and cows on the pasture.
Introduction to farm's activities.
 At the farm holiday you can observe different kinds of
vegetation: everywhere there are the typical plants of a moderate climate are prevalent,
while along the ditch you see some plants of humid climate, and on the stone wall
you see some plants of a barren climate, like the Madonna flower.
La Torretta is an ideal started point in order to visit Siena, one of the most
beautiful city, and the routes towards Chianti, Monteriggioni, Crete, San Gimignano, Volterra,
Florence and other destinations of cultural, naturalistic and gastronomic tourism.
